Finance Analyst

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent Commercial Finance Analyst for an established and successful financial services organisation based in Manchester.

The role

Reporting directly into the Head of FP&A you will be tasked to provide a business partnering service. The successful applicant will analyse and interpret information in order to support decision makers.

The key accountabilities will include:-

• Production of accurate and insightful budgets, forecasts and financial management reporting is critical to ensuring the management team is able to plan, direct and control the business, in order to deliver the business' financial and strategic performance targets.
• The role holder supports Finance Business Partners and the FP&A Business Performance Reporting Manager in providing financial challenge and support to Executive members and their wider teams. Financial business performance analysis is undertaken to produce regular and ad-hoc forecasts, business cases and financial reporting and commentary, exercising business and technical experience and knowledge to challenge and support the delivery of strategic and tactical objectives.
• The role holder ensures that financial control is maintained and enhanced, supporting forecasting, reporting, business cases and analysis meeting required risk and control policy standards and agreed ways of working to drive revenue growth and cost reduction in line with our Purpose, Vision and Strategy.
• The role holder supports the business when making key decisions, through effective challenge and support within key meetings and forums and by being subject matter experts in the creation of business cases and on-going business decisions.

The person

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate should ideally have a broad understanding of the financial services or insurance industry and be able to support non-accounting managers in financial analysis.

You should be financially aware and be capable of demonstrating your ability to assist in meeting objectives, as well as being able to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders. You will need to show that you have good influencing skills with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

The successful candidate should also have the following:-

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with continuous improvement in mind.
• Excel modelling skills and analytical capability to undertake complex financial analysis
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Financially aware and applies this knowledge to produce regular and ad-hoc reporting to assist business stakeholders in meeting business performance objectives
• Understanding of relevant strategic, industry and regulatory environment
• Proven ability to communicate complex information and concepts
• Good negotiating, presentation and influencing skills
• Understands the application of the risk management process
• Proven experience of implementing and enhancing financial control
