Robert half are currently recruiting for a financial modeller for leading organisation in the utilities industry based in Bristol. This post is initially for a period of 6 months but could extend to due to nature of the project.

This role will provide great exposure to this organisation and provide an opportunity to grow with the company at this exciting time of change.

Overview

You will be a valued member of our project team responsible for the development and tailoring of Financial Models using Microsoft Excel. You will manage your own workload and support the team in all areas of work, with the potential for involvement in other areas

Key activities include:

  • Building financial models using historical data and providing forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics.
  • Conducting Scenario Analysis based on macro and micro factors that will help in accessing risk.

Person Specification

  • You must be an experienced, self-motivated, team player who is adaptable to your working environment. The role requires working to deadlines, prioritising workload, project management and providing a high level of service at all time.

In order to be considered for this position you will ideally:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant or with equivalent professional experience
  • A science, engineering or maths-based degree with a very strong aptitude for Excel
  • A proficient understanding of financial and accounting concepts
  • Be accomplished and enjoy working with Microsoft Excel/VBA, with experience of financial models
  • Be able to translate business issues into key financial drivers and translate into financial models
  • A high standard of numeracy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work and communicate as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in an efficient organised manner
  • The desire to perform to a consistently high standard
  • The ability and desire to learn
  • The ability to think through a problem and apply a logical, analytical approach to develop a solution
  • Knowledge of cash-flow modelling
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards ('IFRS')
  • Knowledge of Regulated environment / water industry would be advantageous

  • Rate: £300-£400 per day
