If so, we are currently recruiting for a long standing client of Howarth Morris, a growing and entrepreneurial Group who are currently seeking an ambitious Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA to take up the reins as Financial Controller for 2 of their SME's. Based in South Manchester, you will be the Number 1 in Finance for 2 very different businesses with a combined £15m turnover. With exposure to both commercial and technical accounting, as well as involvement in growing the business further, the opportunities within this business are outstanding.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the production of the monthly management information pack; including timely reporting to the business management team and Group FD. You will gain an informed overview of the company's finances ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with relevant statutory and legal accounting requirements; and ensure that the operations teams are provided with accurate information for making commercial decisions. Furthermore, you will act as a genuine business partner to the MD. You will also be responsible for developing 2 willing and able Assistant Accountants.
My client sees this role as being ideal for a candidate who is seeking the next step in their professional development - a stepping stone to a Finance Director title. The Group FD, a supportive and proven mentor, will assist in your development. You will be expected to improve Month End processes, develop the MI, review the current finance system with a view to a new implementation, and coach a small team. You will be a key member of the team in driving the growth of the business.
My client is ideally seeking an ACA Qualified Accountant, ideally with a minimum of 2 years PQE. However, applications from CIMA/ACCA Qualified candidates will be seriously considered. You will be seeking the next role to continue your development to a number 1. You will possess outstanding communication skills, strong systems (ERP) skills and both technical excellence and commercial vision. This is a key appointment for the business and you will become part of a dynamic and highly capable global team.
