Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant required by a market leading company to cover maternity leave in the New Year. The Financial Accountant will take an active role supporting the Finance Manager in the month end and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance of monthly financial transactions to company policy and statutory requirements.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Preparing journals and analysis to enable the monthly reporting process
• Preparing US GAAP reports and following up queries
• Providing analysis of monthly variances to the Finance Manager for review
• Working with allocations of cost between the three distinct areas of the business
• Supporting the revaluation of all currency balances, to Emerson's prescribed exchange rates, ensuring the accurate transaction and translation losses and gains are reported for the month
• Coordinate and verify documentation to support the Intrastat and VAT returns for all taxable sites
• Provide support and cover to Operations Financial Accountant in the submission of all VAT and Intrastat declarations

The successful Financial Accountant will be:

• Fully Qualified, ACA, ACCA, ACMA (or equivalent)
• Have a strong understanding of Financial Accounting functions
• Financial accounting experience in a similar company
• Must have experience of Oracle ERP system and SAP would be beneficial
• Advanced Excel ability including look Ups/Pivots/Macros
