Commercial Finance Manager

Working for one of Yorkshire's biggest success stories this role would sit within the Trading team and report into the Merchandising and Buying Director alongside the Finance Director.

The main purpose of the position is to serve as a Commercial Business Partner to the Merchandising Director and his team from a Finance perspective.

The client are a growing Retail business who are PE backed and have lots of exciting plans in place for growth and development over the next few years.

With over 300 stores and a turnover of c£400 million they are a large business with tons of opportunity for the right candidates.

Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Drive initiatives to increase sales and gross margin growth

Supper Category management through in depth commercial and finance analysis

Develop sales KPIs for the categories to establish a performance management structure

Competitor analysis to assist the Merchandising team with recommendations

Perform reviews to improve product mix and space allocation

Monitor key supplier performance, support negotiations and business development discussions with key suppliers and identify opportunities for re negotiations

Ad-hoc analysis to support commercial initiatives

Profile

For this role it is essential that you have a Retail/FMCG background.

You must be experienced in business partnering across different divisions and able to spot commercial opportunities.

Ideally you will also be a qualified Accountant.
