Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller for one of the south's most exciting businesses. Based on location at the very heart of the of this global listed business's operations, this is a fantastic opportunity for a part or recently qualified accountant to be part of a truly amazing business.
The role:
Managing a small team, this role will be responsible for:
- Provide accurate and timely daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- To be proactive in making improvements to these reports so as to meet the information requirements of all users.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support the Finance Director, Senior Management, Financial Controller and budget holders.
- Prepare and report on the monthly management accounts, including balance sheet,
- profit and loss and cash flow reports.
- Implement and monitor accounting, financial and loss prevention processes, and be proactive in making improvements.
- Prepare and report on capital expenditure and liaise with project managers to track
- spend against budget.
- To ensure that intercompany transactions are recorded on an accurate and timely
- basis.
- To be proactive in identifying and implementing improvements in financial processes.
- To be responsible for the management and development of four direct reports.
The candidate:
We are looking for the following skills and experience:
- Part or recently qualified accountant with ACCA / CIMA or equivalent, with strong numeracy and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills
- Previous people management experience (this role will manage up to four direct reports) and the ability to communicate with all levels including Senior Management.
- A good problem solver, with the ability to set up and automate processes, systems and procedures and a background in month end processes.
- Experience of using Microsoft systems, including advanced Excel knowledge, together with an aptitude for learning systems quickly are essential.
