Summary

We are looking for a proficient and commercially aware Financial Accountant to provide financial control, accurate and timely external reporting and co-ordinate the internal financial forecasting process for the business. You will be responsible for balance sheet control and work closely with the Finance Manager and Financial Controller to manage the flow of information to ensure accurate reporting. You will develop, implement and use financial systems and processes such that the day to day company finance needs are serviced, management are provided with relevant and timely information and the company operates efficiently and cost effectively.

This role would provide the successful applicant with a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of the finance team. It will be a varied and fast paced job role which will require you to manage a busy workload and prioritise to ensure deadlines are met.

Roles and Areas of Responsibility

•    Working with the Financial Controller to ensure complete statutory compliance
•    Design and implementation of necessary improvements to accounting procedures and controls
•    Develop and monitor cash-flow forecasting model both short and long term
•    Responsibility for all VAT returns and registrations as business grows
•    Responsible for all Balance Sheet reporting and review of monthly position
•    Co-ordinate inputs and prepare annual budget and monthly & quarterly re-forecast
•    Own, prepare and update monthly management reporting for financial re-forecast and actuals
•    Ensure budgets and forecasts reflect committed cost reductions/savings/investment profiles; enable budget owners to control spending via analysis and comparison of actual spending
•    Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
•    Special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary
•    Perform additional duties as requested by management

Education and Experience

•    Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in Finance/Accounting required with at least 1 year exposure to financial and management accounts preparation
•    Part qualified/newly qualified CIMA or ACCA
•    Advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups etc.), Word and other MS Office products, experience of Sage 200 desirable but not essential
