This important position plays a fundamental role in delivering the future profitability of the business. The pricing analyst also provides vital analytical support to the dynamic and fast-paced sales function.
The main duties/requirements of this role:
-Prepare profitability models to support pricing of new and existing business, challenge proposed pricing and recommend alternative price points and commercial strategies.
-Utilise and evolve client bid models and, where relevant, using business knowledge to amend or rebase assumptions and calculations.
-Develop business knowledge and analytical skills to the point that capable of proposing individual solutions for customer pricing challenges.
-Assist in delivering ‘bespoke’ client commercial solutions within the context of ensuring that the company’s profitability measures and targets are achieved.
-Enforce pricing and contract principles.
-Help improve the effectiveness of the team
-Improve the efficiency and automation of processes by which pricing and rate assessment are carried out.
-Assist in the audit of the pricing models, developing the model in line with changing business requirements.
-Provide innovative input that will support integration of Commercial Finance team process and activities with those of Sales and Operations.
-Act as a valued member of the Commercial Finance team.
-Support in business partnering Sales, Account Management, Proposition and Marketing teams.
-Ad-hoc work and projects as required by the Head of Commercial Finance.
-Build working relationships with internal stakeholders and across the finance function.
Personal Specifications:-
- Strong academic background.
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Business partnering experience
- Financial modelling experience
- Experience of using Hyperion/Essbase/Salesforce
- Ability to summarise information effectively with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to analyse complex data with sound rationale and intellectual rigour.
- Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
- 40 hours per week
- Some infrequent travel to various sites throughout the UK
