Great Britain’s gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. It’s high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, our client’s role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected. Now they need you to play a key role in their future, driving the change needed to ensure that they can meet the growing complexity of the market and their developing regulatory remit.

Our client is now seeking a Senior Manager to join their team in Birmingham and play a key role in taking their organisation to new heights of success.

If you have a fantastic leadership style and a proven track record of enhancing business performance, this is a superb opportunity to develop your career with a renowned regulatory body.

As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for developing our client’s corporate business plan, taking account of challenges, constraints and risks and reporting on business performance.

In this important role, you will ensure that our client is aware of strategic or industry developments that may impact their objectives and plans.

You will provide well-informed analysis, advice and guidance to the Board, senior management and worksteam leads to support planning and reporting activities at all levels of the organisation. This will include matters relating to priorities, the deployment of resources and the management of key risks and issues.

Additionally, you’ll create and implement methods, measures and reports to evaluate organisational and workstream related performance.

To be considered, you must have experience of the following:

- Managing and leading employees to improve business performance and to develop their potential
- Developing and leading on evidence-based, integrated business plans which are underpinned by robust forecasting and resource/asset management strategies which take account of the complexities of the operating environment
- Developing, implementing and managing outcome-based performance evaluation frameworks and measures, including the use of tools such as balanced scorecards, outcome performance measures and KPIs

Analytical and highly organised, as the Senior Manager, you must have exceptional communication and presentation skills. You must also have a strong commitment to continuous improvement and a pragmatic, adaptable approach.

Previous regulatory experience would be beneficial, as would an MBA or similar postgraduate qualification. An understanding of gambling and its regulation and the political context and environment in which our client operates would also be advantageous.
