An Accounts Payable Supervisor is required to work for a high growth up and coming international fashion retailer based in Bedford. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave and a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known brand that is growing rapidly both nationally and internationally.

Experiencing an exciting period of growth this up and coming retail company are looking for someone as an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their friendly and supportive finance function based in the Bedford area
Description
You will be reporting to the Financial Controller, and will be taking ownership for the accounts payable process including supervising 2 Accounts Payable Clerks and assisting with month-end. You will be an integral part of the finance team and duties will include:
- Supervising the accounts payable function for the UK business
- Supervising 2 members of staff within accounts payable
- Accurately processing up to 1600 invoices per month for the UK business
- Management of payment runs including rent and service charge
- Handling supplier statement reconciliations
- Maintaining aged creditor reports and reporting this to management
- Point of contact for any supplier queries and additional internal queries
- Cash management including bank reconciliations in foreign currency
- Covering for the accounts receivable function when required
Profile
The successful Accounts Payable Supervisor will have a minimum of 3 year's experience working in Purchase ledger and ideally have managed, supervised or lead a small team previously.
- You must have proven experience taking ownership for the accounts payable ledger
- Previous experience supervising is desirable but not essential
- It is desirable that you have worked in the retail sector or within a multi-site business.
- Knowledge of SUN/ SAGE is beneficial but not essential
- To be considered you need to have strong communication skills to be able to liaise with senior management
