Accounts Senior/ Assistant Manager

Our client, a small independent accountancy practice based in North Manchester are currently looking to recruit an "Accounts Senior/ Assistant Manager" to join their established and very friendly practice near Bury.

They are a small team of between 10-20 employees with mixed ages ranging from 18 to 60+

What is important to them is technical competency, personality and team spirit as it is important that anyone who joins this team is a team player as well as a hard worker.

The practice sits opposite a free car- park so there should be no parking issues for those of you that drive.

Key Responsibilities/ Skills Required

As an "Accounts Senior/ Assistant Manager" your role will vary and be inclusive ofgeneral bookkeeping, VAT, Accounts preparation, personal and corporation tax amongst other duties.

You will work with a variety of businesses including OMB's, Sole Traders, Partnerships (over £1m turnover) and Limited companies.

Whilst they have a dedicated Tax Manager/ Specialist, the accounts team are responsible for over 100 self-assessment tax returns as part of their duties.

Whilst this is a great practice to work, they do have very high expectations from candidates applying and do expect candidates still to be able to do simple duties such as double entry bookkeeping.

With the big changes coming with IFRS, technical competency is now more important than ever.

To apply for this role you need to be around a 20 mile radius of North Manchester.

-They are really looking for candidates with a minimum of 4 years practice experience in a similar role - Do you have this or more?

-Previous experience of preparing accounts for medium sized businesses, circa £2-6m would be ideal and someone who enjoys working as part of a small and friendly team environment. - Is this you?

-Have you working knowledge of Digita Accounts Production which this practice uses for their corporation tax, personal tax and company secretarial duties?

-Do you have a strong knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Xero re Bookkeeping?

-Are you someone that will muck in when the going gets tough?

-Do you suit a bigger practice environment or a smaller practice environment?

-If the company gave you a simple aptitude test with basic English and Maths how well do you think you would do! Would you pass it?
