Financial Controller

Gleeson Recruitment Group are looking to recruit a Group Financial Controller for a growing manufacturing business based in South Birmingham. This is an amazing opportunity to get involved in an ever changing, growing business who are going to be involved in some very exciting projects over the next 18 months including a potential IPO. You must be ACA qualified and will have strong technical accounting knowledge including US GAAP and IFRS. In return there is a very competitive salary and benefits package on offer.

The Company

The successful Group Financial Controller will be working for a highly profitable business who operate globally but have a strong presence in Europe. You will be working with a small and talented team of like-minded individuals that you can learn from and add value to.

This role will also allow you access to the CFO on a daily basis and therefore the ability to engage at this level is critical.

The Role

As the Group Financial Controller you will take full accountability for the numbers as well as get involved with various projects including acquisitions and a potential IPO. You will on a day to day basis:

• Own European Consolidation - Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
• Manage Month End / Quarter End Close Process
• Deliver smooth month-end closing & consolidation process across Europe
• Lead US GAAP Consolidation - Consolidation / Elimination Entries, PPA Adjustments, Addback,
• Maintain Robust Internal Control Environment
• Ensure SOX Compliance inc User Access Reviews, Journal Reviews, Manage Reconciliation & Responsibilities Matrix
• Conduct Balance Sheet Reviews - Ledger & Reconciliation Review / Validation, Provision Review, Inventory (Stock Take, Valuation etc)
• The delivery of all Group management and statutory reporting, including analysis and supporting information
• Co-ordination of the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and strategic planning processes
• Liaising with external Advisors in relation to audit, taxation and other areas
• Due diligence on potential acquisitions and involvement in integration process
• Ad hoc projects

The Candidate

As the successful Group Financial Controller you will be:

• A fully qualified Chartered Accountant with strong academics
• Manufacturing background would be preferential
• Have experience of IFRS, US GAAP and SOX
• Consolidation experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong systems skills.
