Title: Head of Accounts
Location: North West London
Salary: £35K - £40K.
Our client, an impressive growing business based in North West London are looking to source a Head of Accounts. The role will be to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, supervise accounts staff and provide answers to any queries they may have. This will also include the production of quarterly management reports, month and year end processes and deal with accounts queries from staff both internally and externally.
Key responsibilities:
-Ensuring that staff in accounts department performs their duties effectively and efficiently
-Ensuring general ledger, subsidiary ledgers and other financial records are accurately maintained
-Managing the AP, AR, sub-contract and payroll function
-Ensuring the balance sheet is reconciled and controlled effectively through monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations
-Reviewing general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of posted transactions
-Assigning duties to respective staff, supervising, encouraging and reviewing work
-Monitoring of creditors/debtors accounts and cash position
-Preparing and submitting quarterly Vat returns
-Preparing/supervising the preparation of financial management reports and annual accounts for audit (to trial balance)
-Taking a proactive approach to reporting, system and process improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in finance function
-General financial administration, e.g. bank transfers, payments authorization, approving final journal postings, etc.
-Staff appraisals
-Providing reports to the Financial Controller
-Supporting Financial Controller in variety of ad-hoc projects
The ideal candidate must be a strong character with experience of running a finance function including AR, AP, Payroll, VAT, accounts preparation and other accounting transactions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team up will be essential.
