Treasury Analyst - Utilities
6 Months - Coventry and London

Initially, this role will be based in London with 2-3 days a week in Coventry. After 3 months this role will transfer full time to Coventry.
Overview
A Treasruy Analyst is required by a large utilities client in Warwick. Part of a team of four, the post is responsible for the funding of 4 principal subsidiaries and approximately 20 bank accounts in three principal currencies on a daily basis. Looking after average weekly cash flows of approx £50M, the Company is subject to Financial and Regulatory Compliance and the post is responsible for the operation of a number of Treasury controls.
Responsibilities
- Cash Management - The opening cash position is complete and accurate, All forecast cash flows are captured and accurate, all discrepancies between actual and forecast cash flows are investigated and resolved, the daily dealing instructions are prepared and delivered to the Dealer in a timely manner, All accounts and netting groups achieve their target balances by the close of business each day.
- Settlements- All payments are made in an accurate and timely manner, the settlements beneficiary database is accurate and properly authorised, the online file of supporting documentation for payments is complete and accurate, cover for dual approval is maintained
- Reconciliations - Reconcile daily bank statements in the TMS for all principle treasury accounts. Monthly reconcile all Treasury Bank accounts to G/L, investigating erroneous bank/Reval entries and making correcting journals or Reval entries where required. Calculate and journal at year end the MTM FX difference on all currency treasury accounts.
- Confirmation matching - Ensure the timely and accurate confirmation of all treasury transactions with counterparties; investigate and resolve discrepancies with banks. Generate monthly unmatched deal report and investigate outstanding confirmations.
- Intercompany funding - Ensure that subsidiaries are adequately funded each day and that surplus funds are centralised to achieve efficient group cash funding.
- Controls and compliance - ensure that all controls are operated and completed in a timely and complete manner.
Skills and Experience Required
- Working knowledge of debt, derivative financial instruments and cash pooling arrangements
- strong swift payment knowledge including message types
- MS Excel spreadsheet skills and familiarity with Treasury Management System and general ledger.
- Previous experience at this level in the Treasury of a FTSE 250 company will be essential
