This role is based in Victoria London so close to all main line connections. The role reports to the CFO , a highly  talented and engaging business man.

The company works in the technology sector and is developing a range of health care products which will transform the treatment offered to cancer sufferers.

Responsibilities;

The main responsibility of the role will be to ensure the accurate and timely production of the monthly management accounts along with forecasting, cash flow management, year-end audit including preparation of the annual statutory accounts and year end group consolidation. Ensuring strong financial processes through management of a team consisting of 2 Finance Assistants and an overseas Finance Manager.

Duties will include;

  •  Management of month-end process including: preparation and review of monthly management accounts
  • Overseeing cash flow preparation and managing cash balances;
  • Management, compliance and overall responsibility for VAT returns;
  • Liaise with payroll provider and management of employee benefits
  • Ownership of monthly management reporting pack, business performance data, including comparison of actual results against plan and previous year, together with commentary, revenue recognition and key performance indicators.
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process;
  • Prepare year end group consolidation and statutory accounts;
  • Manage year-end audit  process with external auditors and take to audit sign off;
  • Management of Finance Assistants daily financial operations including sales and purchase ledger, payroll, credit cards and expenses.
  • Managing relationships with Banks, Payroll provider and HMRC

Skills & Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with minimum 3/4 years PQE is desirable
  • Experience of managing a finance function in industry in a small/medium-sized company. Unlikely to be from a Head office environment.
  • Strong technical and accounting knowledge and demonstrable experience of financial control, through balance sheet reconciliations, P&L review and maintenance of financial processes
  • Experience of working in multi-currency environments

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with solid reporting experience, strong academic background who will bring a pro-active approach, and ‘can do’ attitude to the role. The role will require excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to develop relationships with staff in other areas of the business.
