Robert Half Finance & Accountancy are pleased to be supporting our client; a well known multi-site UK Brand on the recruitment of a Performance Manager; an exciting true finance business partnering position, supporting operational stakeholders and directly contributing to driving efficiencies, cost savings and best practice. The role is based in Northampton but open to be based in their Peterborough site

This is a highly commercial and analytic role spending your time in the business supporting your stakeholders; challenging operations, coming up with ideas and new ways of doing things without affecting overall service levels to customers. This role is not a month end position, it is all about influencing change in a positive outcome and holding operators accountable



The Performance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Use financial and business insight to influence, challenge and partner the business to;
  • Agree activities that will deliver the required in year performance standard
  • Influence delivery of the agreed activities to the required time, cost and standard, or develop and agree remedial actions with leadership team to deliver corrective actions
  • Evaluate whether agreed activities have delivered the expected outputs and provide transparency on performance
  • Drive a performance management culture, undertaking productivity and bench-marking analysis to understand and influence performance
  • Review change activity and optimisation of resourcing to ensure compliance with procedures and to maximise business benefits
  • Provide technical guidance and appropriate consideration of risks and opportunities, taking an independent view of the need to escalate issues
  • Working with shared services, ensure there are robust control procedures in place
  • Actively participate in leadership meetings and forums
  • Ensure that cost efficiency and a cost conscious culture is a key focus for the business units leadership team
  • Seek continuous process improvements and promote best practice
  • Travel to several operational sites in the region a couple of days per week.


Your Profile

  • With at least 3 to 5 years of of business partnering experience with stakeholders, either analysing costs or revenues, driving change, helping to make efficiencies and cost savings and providing stakeholders with meaningful and insightful advice and guidance.
  • We are looking for a candidate who can challenge, influence and directly contribute to commercial decision making that will have a direct impact on costs and operational efficiencies
  • The ideal candidate will have operational business partnering experience, will be able to question, to see the big picture, come up with creative ideas and understand how to make efficiencies
