Financial Accountant

An excellent opportunity to join a large manufacturing business based near Goole as Financial Accountant.

Your new company
Hays Senior Finance is working with a global manufacturing business based in the Goole area. The company has sites throughout the world and there are excellent opportunities for progression within the European business in the future, either on secondment or permanently. The site turns over approximately £80m and employs 5 in the finance department.

Your new role
The finance team are responsible for all accounting activities for the site plus the monthly and annual submissions to the corporate headquarters.

Reporting to the site Finance Manager the duties and responsibilities will include:
Producing the site financial statements in accordance with recognised accounting standards
Monthly and annual financial forecasting
VAT returns and compliance
Management of the external audit process, from planning to final UK signed accounts
Corporation tax returns and compliance
Capital project appraisals and fixed asset register maintenance
Production of year end corporate reporting packs
Acting as a super user for the accounting and financial reporting systems

What you will need to succeed
The job of Financial Accountant would suit a part or fully qualified accountant who has gained similar experience in industry and is looking to develop their career. It would also suit someone looking to make their first move into industry from a medium or large firm of accountants.

What you will get in return
You will receive a competitive salary of between £30,000 and £40,000 per annum, depending upon your level of qualification and experience. You will also receive 25 days holiday plus statutory days, a stakeholder pension with company contributions starting at 5%, and an incentive scheme that pays a bonus based on performance after a 6 month qualifying period.
