Financial Controller

Heyland Recruitment are delighted to be assisting our client, a highly-regarded subsidiary of a large and successful international manufacturing business close to the Warrington area.

Reporting to the Financial Director and managing a small accounts function, the Financial Controller will take full responsibility and financial control for a 50 million turnover division of this large, well renowned international organisation.

As the shining beacon of the group, our client has a track-record of consistent growth and profitability year on year.  The Financial Controller will play an integral role in facilitating this growth, ensuring that this success is continued within corporate guidelines.   

The main responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the accurate and timely production and distribution of financial information to the business directors and stakeholders.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet, group reporting and preparation of the board reports.
• Preparation of year end statutory accounts in accordance with up to date reporting standards.
• Development and ongoing improvement of financial and operational information and KPI’s.
• Proactive and strong liaison and communication with senior managers within the business, up to and including Director level.
• Direct point of contact with external Professional bodies – Auditors, Tax, HMRC, Insurance etc.
• Preparation of financial information to support the budgeting/forecasting process.
• Overhead Analysis – working with budget holders to implement business cost savings.
• Balance Sheet Management, Costing Analysis.
• Inventory Control including the analysis of slow moving and obsolete stock.
• Responsible for calculating and maintaining accurate customer rebate provisions.
• Adhering to Group Reporting requirements and deadlines.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA Accountant with a strong management background, ideally within a manufacturing environment.  Working knowledge of an ERP system and a thorough grasp of standard costing and stock management is also essential. 

As the current Finance Director moves towards a more strategically based remit, there are progression opportunities available to an ambitious Financial Controller looking to develop into a number one in finance.
