My exclusive client is a fast growing, c£25m t/o privately owned innovator and manufacturer of market leading products. With a dynamic, entrepreneurial and values driven culture it has grown consistently year on year through a fierce commitment to exceptional customer relationships and product innovation.
Led by a highly experienced management team, it has a strong international customer base and has continually created new market opportunities by leveraging its extensive technical expertise to create disruptive and high performing products.
Operating within a regulated environment, it has to deliver products to the highest specification whilst being highly responsive to customer demand.
It has exciting and ambitious plans for further market and product development, and is targeting significant organic and profitable growth within the next five years.
They are now seeking to appoint a highly commercial Chief Financial Officer who will join them on this journey.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with other members of the executive team, this highly commercial role will include:
- Providing rigorous and incisive financial leadership across the business with full responsibility for Finance/IT/HR and input into the strategic vision/planning for the business
- Enabling that finance plays a proactive and supporting role in commercial decision making, improving visibility of both business performance and developing/emerging market and product opportunities
- Ensuring the business has the requisite infrastructure, controls, MI and IT systems for continued and ambitious growth
- Leading and developing a first class finance function, with responsibility for all annual and monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial and commercial analysis
- Strong management of working capital including foreign exchange management and international trading related issues (letters of credit etc.)
- Being the main point of contact for banking, corporate finance and tax advisors, auditors, lawyers, pension advisors and other external parties
- Acting as Company Secretary
The successful candidate will be:
- Qualified with a strong track record in their career to date and able to thrive in a fast moving and entrepreneurially driven environment
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with a strong international dynamic would be advantageous
- Able to combine significant commercial flair with a robust approach to financial rigor and compliance
- Able to operate at both a detailed and strategic level, hands on operationally whilst always conscious of the bigger picture
- Down to earth and flexible in approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels across the business
- Passionate about excellence, strong on integrity and proactive in outlook
- Able to bring ideas of their own to the table, whilst bringing constructive evaluation/critique and support to the ideas of others
