My client based in Letchworth is looking for an experienced qualified financial controller for a maternity cover position. The main duties of the role involve managing the finance team and providing timely and accurate financial information.

Duties will include:

-Oversee the production of monthly management accounts including accounting for wages and pensions, balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variance to budget and rolling forecast within set 7 day deadline

-Job review and required journal movement

-Ensure timely close of all ledgers

-Oversee the production and presentation of monthly accounts packs for Executive team including feedback on debt collection and cash position

-Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors

-Production of annual statutory accounts and all associated lead schedules

-Maintain rolling forecast

-Monitor budgets for all departments and liaise with department heads to ensure they stay within strategic plan and rolling forecast

-Oversee KPI management

-Provide training and support for the finance team in their roles as required

-Monitor and improve control systems to ensure sufficient internal control exists for rigorous accounts production
