An interim Finance Manager is sought by an international division of a globally recognised music company to cover a period of maternity leave. They work with scores of artists who enjoy worldwide fame and the company owns the rights to significant back catalogues of music that span genres to suit all tastes & ears. It is likely that you’ll hear the music of one of their artists on a weekly if not daily basis.

The Finance Manager reports into a Finance Director and will be responsible for supporting the performance of a key division on a global basis. The Finance Manager will manage 2 staff and will enjoy the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for all revenue generative business units and head office cost centres including actuals, forecasts & budgets.
  • Co-ordinate quarter & year end submissions from globally based business units; ensure intercompany eliminations are carried out correctly.
  • Produce a bi-weekly cash flow forecast to account for product performance (eg. new releases, sales reporting). Provide variance analysis / commentary.
  • Develop an understanding of the music industry (eg. digital v physical sales).
  • Work closely with sales & marketing regarding artist releases / tours etc…
  • Create / develop various analytical tools to track performance of the division.
  • A range of ad hoc projects.

The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager role will be a qualified ACA who has gained experience in both practice and commerce. It’s likely you’ll have worked in a complex international business and, if you have music or consumer products experience, so much the better. You will also have strong leadership, analytical and communication skills, will be adept at managing stakeholders with differing levels of financial competence and will thrive in a creative, progressive environment.  Finally, candidates must be able to commit for the full 12 months that this assignment will run for.

Rate / Salary: £325 - £350 per day (would also consider FTC at £65k + bens).
