Having grown consistently in a market which has been consolidating, the newly created role of Financial Controller is a direct consequence of this. Based in Liverpool, you will quickly become the centre-point of a department which will be key to ensuring future success.
Reporting into the Finance Director and with daily dialogue with all Board Members, you will take responsibility for the daily running of the finance function. Coaching and mentoring a talented team, ensuring Management Information is timely and fit for purpose, overseeing all aspects of reporting and controls and supporting the Finance Director on a series of key initiatives will all form part of your brief. In a medium sized business, you really will feel exposed to all front line actions. Innovation around both product offering and market position have allowed this business to remain prominent in a sector which has shown consolidation in recent years. This leaves them well placed (and financed) to continue to offer a diverse and relevant service to their markets. The determination and ability required to enable them to do this will be mirrored in your personality and achievements: a natural leader who will be the 'go-to' person of your team and The Board for a range of requirements.
A Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a control background and strong technical grasp, you will be as comfortable shaping a currency policy as you will be acting as mentor to a diverse team. Many aspects of this role are based around the key fundamentals of Financial Control, whilst many will be ad-hoc in nature. Your ability to articulate examples of such exposure will be prominent in this process, whilst your appetite to thrive in an environment where you have to look for the answers is also fundamental.
