The Role

I am pleased to be working with a Global cutting edge business based in Wokingham who is seeking a European Finance Director to run their UK office.

The European Finance Director will be responsible for

* Directing all finance activities for European operations

* Support HQ HR function for European HR issues Position Summary,

Responsibilities and Expectations:

* Management of the European Credit team

* Full responsibility for technical advice & reporting on VAT / Intrastat

* Full responsibility for technical advice & reporting on WEEE

* Local tax filings in Germany / NL / UK / others as required

* Key interface with European external tax advisers

* Assistance in setting up new legal entities in Europe as required

* Support for local European statutory financial audits

* Key interface with local auditors

* Support HQ finance team in interpreting local national GAAP

* Support for HQ HR in employment legal matters as they arise

* Support for HQ HR in interpreting local HR policies & practices

* Support HQ finance in Europe treasury management

* Control / negotiation of leases

* Assist HQ FP&A with Europe annual and quarterly cost budgets

* Ensure strong financial and cost control for European budgets

* Assist contra revenue and functional incentive process for European customer accounts

* Responsible for all financial processes and systems across Europe

Your Profile

Essential Skills and Experience:

* CPA/ACA equivalent required

* 10+ years of industrial experience, including prior managerial roles

* Experience with Oracle Financials or other major ERP software is desired

* Proficient in advanced Excel applications

* European languages a benefit

* Efficient, influential communicator within Finance and with other groups

* Persuasive leadership style that gets things done across geographic and functional lines

* Hands-on style from detail to higher level

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Self-starter who can resolve issues with minimal direct supervision

* Proven success working with domestic and international staff

* Effectively sets daily/weekly/monthly work priorities

* Travel may be required to individual European sites and Group HQ in California

* University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field Reporting to this position:

* European credit & cash applications team of 3 people

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is circa £120,000 plus bonus and benefits.
