The Not for Profit division at the SF Group are currently recruiting for a Commercial Analyst to join a well established charity based in Matlock. The ideal candidate will need to analyse, pro-actively report and make recommendations to the Commercial Management team on measures and actions to improve the performance of all the associations trading lines and products.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Use reporting tools to manipulate and interpret the data; to report and present key data clearly and succinctly for management to review
  • Work with stakeholders, providing insight and analysis on availability, opening patterns, inventory and product placement across the network
  • Provide clear and concise information; regular and as hoc reports as required, to inform decision-making advising of key risks and concerns
  • Undertake analysis of pricing structures and booking patterns for Groups, Families and Individuals and Travel Trade Customers and make recommendations to improve overnights, revenue, yield and retention
  • Provide analysis of pricing structures for Educational Packages
  • Formalise the analysis of competitor activity and market conditions; provide and present detailed reports
  • Provide analytics on promotional activity to measure the effectiveness of promotions, offers and sales to provide insight into incremental business generated and return on investment (ROI)
  • Administer groups pricing systems
  • Review the customer journey; make recommendations to ensure systems and processes always deliver the best service

Person specification:

  • Proven ability in an operational support role including the ability to explain issues affecting performance and provide authoritative advice
  • ICT literate including proficient use of Microsoft packages, in particular have excellent Excel skills to produce data analysis, pivot tables, What-Ifs, graphs and charts
  • Working knowledge of database systems e.g. SQL/SAS/Qlikview and VBA
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to spot trends and patterns
  • Flexible approach to working hours including some weekend work and occasional overnights in the hostel network
  • A degree of equivalent in a related discipline such as business analytics/Mathematics/Statics or other related subject would be desirable
