We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager (Finance) for our client - a highly regarded, leading housing association based in the Merseyside area. Operating in a broad & autonomous role you will be the finance lead on project managing new business, new initiatives, growth projects and strategic policies with the responsibility for providing financial expertise, analysis, modelling and advice. Operating as the Project Manager (Finance) you will be involved in high level projects including new business growth strategies, acquisitions, mergers, development of new financial systems/policies and will also play a key role in corporate planning, ensuring the businesses and its activities are in a strong position to overcome any potential issues that could arise through any political, regulatory or economic impact. As a Project Manager (Finance) your remit will include:

  • Identifying and implementing fit for purpose financial accounting principles for new business innovations and developments
  • Developing existing controls, processes, procedures to meet and changes in accounting regulations within the sector
  • Providing business analysis and financial option appraisal to the framing of Group strategic policies.
  • Supporting new business and growth projects (PFI's, joint ventures, stock transfers, mergers etc.) through financial modelling, critical analysis of assumptions and data, risk and sensitivity analysis
  • Arranging funding for project finance transactions, negotiating contract terms, option appraisal, writing bid submissions and board reports
  • Liaison with professional advisors, project implementation, evaluation and reporting and liaison with other departments, colleagues and contractors.
  • Support existing business option appraisals and other ad hoc project appraisals through financial modelling and critical analysis of assumptions
  • Board reporting for project implementation, evaluation and reporting.
  • Development and audit of existing excel models (incl. challenging assumptions and testing outputs for reasonableness), and the building and testing of new models
  • Writing user manuals and providing guidance for new models and processes
  • Contribute to the wider management of the finance team

Applicants will be fully qualified CIMA/ACCA or ACA Accountants with post qualification experience at Project Accountant or Finance Project Manager level. You will be an Advanced MS Excel user with experience of building financial models, project appraisal and DCF (Discounted Cash Flow). You will ideally have experience of working with professional advisors and stakeholders including funders, solicitors, accountants and financial advisors and will have the ability to clearly communicate and present complex financial issues to a broad audience.
