Finance Director

Our client is a rapidly growing wholesale business and due to this growth they are now looking to recruit a Finance Director who has a strong understanding of retail/ wholesale/ consumer goods.  Working as a key strategic partner to the Group MD, the FD will have full responsibility for all areas of Finance, Governance and Treasury/ Foreign Exchange. 

Main duties

•         Lead the finance and management reporting function, supporting the Board through the preparation of budgets and financial reports and providing advice and guidance on financial strategy

•         Manage systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances, including the financial control framework

•         Ensure business plan is on track and provide commercial insight into variances

•         Ensue robust cash management

•         Management of external audit and banking relationships

•         Ensure that accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and that company policies are followed

Experience

•         A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

•         Experience of working in a multi-currency business

•         A strong and up to date knowledge of IT systems and process management

•         Ability to deliver fast 'helicopter view' commercial financial analysis as well as bottom up detailed modelling

•         Experience of retail and/ or wholesale where there has been a strong focus on product margins
