A privately owned business with a growing reputation and operations nationally. This entrepreneurial SME is experiencing rapid growth, and has recently announced its strategic vision for the next 5 years. This is a great time to join a business that will be expanding and thereby offering a challenging and wide ranging job role for aspiring finance leaders.

Your new role
Reporting into a talented and hands on Finance Director you will be responsible for leading and developing the finance team. You'll provide the support and leadership to help them become a high performing team capable of supporting the growth of the business. Your keen eye for processes will identify improved ways of working and efficiencies, and your advanced Excel skills will be used to help develop improved MI for the business.
The company has a group structure and so you will be responsible for producing divisional management accounts and leading the year end Audit as well as preparing ad hoc reports for the board.
Innovation has driven the success of this business, so you can expect to be called upon to prepare ad hoc analyses and business cases.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a strong accounting background, having probably trained in practice and have a keen eye for detail as well as the ability to oversee complex balance sheet reconciliations. You must be a qualified accountant and this may be your first move out of practice ( having completed some accounts preparation work previously) or a second move into a more rounded Finance Manager role.
You'll have strong systems skills especially Excel. If you have SQL or VBA ability this is highly advantageous.
You must have a passion for leading people, even if you haven't formally managed staff previously.
