Financial Controls Manager

This is a truly exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to manage the Financial Controls environment within the Finance Function including maintenance of risk reporting and the design and assurance of key controls operating within the function.

This position provides the successful candidate with fantastic exposure across the business as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assure the application of key controls over finance processes and reshape processes and procedures where required.
• Maintain action plans for the finance team and embed a qualitative assurance framework.
• Manage and facilitate the quarterly Risk and Control Self Assessment process.
• Manage the completion of "Financial risk" returns and maintain the documentation of the key processes.
• Challenge the Finance team and identify weaknesses in current financial controls.
• Transition the Risk Transition Plan into Business As Usual, including maintaining an assurance and review process for all elements.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts, regulatory and tax returns.
• Design, test and implement improvements to balance sheet reconciliations and lead schedules.

Qualifications required:

• Educated to degree level.
• Qualified or passed finalist accountant.

Experience required:

• Experience Microsoft Office.
• Excellent knowledge of a wide range of finance processes to allow for a challenging approach.
• Previous experience with risk based activities is an advantage.
• Experience of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Comprehensive market, financial risk and business awareness.
• Previous working within Financial Services is desirable for this position.
• Experience of working within Financial controls is essential for this position.
