Finance Analyst - Commercial

The Finance Analyst position sits within the focused, high calibre Finance
Strategy team, working closely with the Finance Manager the Head of Finance,
and other parts of Finance, to provide robust analysis and modelling for the
long range plan, as well as providing comprehensive market and competitor
analysis, strategic analysis, project work and the co-ordination of decision
support processes.

Deliverables from this team form a key part of commercial and strategic
decision making by the board. The role is high profile and at the forefront of
setting overall business strategy.

Responsibilities

Three Year Plan:

• Assist in accurate and robust modelling of revenues and costs for the
  business
• Develop a sound understanding of all areas of the business in order to
  provide challenge on key assumptions and to ensure accurate and
  credible modelled outputs
• Assist in the preparation of strategy and financial presentations and
  narratives for Senior Management
• Product development and ad-hoc project work

Strategic Planning:

• Using external sources to develop forecasts, reports, market, industry
  and competitor insight as well as assisting in review materials produced
  for the FM and Head of Finance, Finance Strategy

Competitor & Economic Analysis


• Provision of regular competitor and economic updates to the business
  
• Collation of information relating to competitor and economic insights
• Review of new information available and production of useful insight
  for distribution to the business via the weekly bulletins
• Understand drivers of competitor profitability, KPIs, risks and
  opportunities
  

Modelling of competitor performance.



• Business case development
• Product development and investment reviews

You will need to be a qualified accountant ACA/CIMA/ACCA with an ambition to work in a highly commercial, fast paced, dynamic environment. You will need to be a self starter with an ability to work on multiple projects and any time and work to a variety of different audiences/stakeholders.
