This is a unique opportunity to join a growing, and increasingly inquisitive business based in Oxford as their Financial Controller. The Finance function, having recently undergone significant change, truly partners the business, so you will be able to have a measurable impact from the day you join.

If you are a technically minded individual this could be the ideal role for you as you will be able to use your broad knowledge of accounting to help refine this newly created role.

You could be involved in:

  • Preparation of Management Accounts on a monthly basis including P&L, cash flow statement and accompanying insight.
  • Statutory and year end accounting, and overseeing payroll.
  • Liaising with auditors; supporting the audit cycle company-wide, including the creation of financial board papers for the audit and investment committees.
  • Overseeing transfer pricing and tax compliance.
  • Managing and leading three direct reports, overseeing analysis and decision support.

In order to help drive performance you will be involved in the shaping of KPI reporting. The Financial Controller will also manage the development of the Reporting and Control framework. This broad role will have the responsibility for deputising for the Head of Financial Accounting on an ad-hoc basis, and will regularly contribute to financial presentations to the Board.

Naturally, you will be a strong communicator with the confidence to challenge at multiple levels of the business. Previous experience of managing and developing a team will act in your favour, as will the ability to work well in a team, which is essential.

To be considered you must have a full (CA, ACA, ACCA) accounting qualification with significant post qualification experience. Advanced Excel abilities and an ability to work under reasonable amounts of pressure will support your application.
