The ideal candidate for this role will be a recent graduate looking to get into a PLC where they can grow their career and knowledge base or somebody who has recently finished their AAT and wants to move on in their career onto a professional qualification.
As an Assistant Accountant you will assist the Finance Manager in managing the balance sheet, maintaining good controls and leading a simple approach to accounting. You will drive forward the monthly accuracy of the UK numbers and associated process improvement. To focus on accounting for marketing, customer incentive schemes and intercompany as well as supporting the other areas of the balance sheet team.
As part of this role you will:
- Drive continual process improvement.
- Preparation of balance sheet reporting.
- Maintain balance sheet compliance.
- Own the preparation of accounting for marketing and customer incentive schemes.
- Undertake the monthly processing and reconciling of intercompany and intracompany accounts.
- Pro actively liaise with stakeholders including other departments to ensure accuracy of UK balance sheet.
- Complete half year and year end statutory reporting requirements.
- Identify and highlight risks and opportunities based on marketing and promotions information.
