Key accountabilities will include delivering quarterly business planning, enhancing the current levels of financial reporting, driving the quality of financial insight provided to senior stakeholders to enable strategic decision making, partnering successfully with divisional FDs and CEOs in order to provide a greater understanding of financial results, challenging stakeholders in order to improve profitability and Group performance, driving process improvement and executing business strategies, delivering high quality Board presentation packs, consulting on areas of growth promotion and cost saving initiatives, working closely with wider finance teams to achieve consistency, monitoring capital movements, liaising with Treasury and Investor Relations functions, reviewing overall business plans and objectives, leading and appraising staff, providing a greater understanding of business trends and competitor activity.
The successful candidate will be a qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with relevant commercial post qualified experience and the appetite to operate successfully within a changing high performance environment. Applicants must have the confidence to challenge at all levels of the business and be prepared to initiate change when necessary. Strong Excel skills are required and previous insurance underwriting experience would be advantageous.
