Management Accountant

Our client, an impressive, forward thinking UK business are looking to recruit a management accountant to join their growing finance team. The role will be to prepare and present the monthly management accounts to allow key business and strategic decisions to be made.

Key Responsibilities:
-Posting journals into the accounting system
-Reconcile turnover to primary books of entry
-Verify that transactions entered into the accounting system are correct
-Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the Finance Director and Finance Controller, to include profit & loss, balance sheet & cash flow statements for all group companies
-Reconcile monthly balance sheets to include (but not limited to); fixed assets, debtors, creditors, stock & work in progress, prepayments, inter-company accounts, PAYE & NIC, tax, and VAT & accruals
-Analyse and report with commentary on the financial performance of the company and its business units
-Ensure transactions entered into the accounting system comply with generally accepted accounting principles (UK GAAP)
-Continually test the accounting control environment for weakness and suggest and implement improvements
-Ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis
-Management of workload to ensure periodic deadlines are met in a timely manner

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with 1-2 years post-qualified experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team will be essential.
