A rapidly expanding business needs a driven and diminutive Finance Controller to join their Sheffield Head Office. The business have experienced significant year on year growth and are now looking to expand its operations further across the national market. They are looking for an individual with strong commercial and business acumen.

Based within easy commutable distance from Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley the business includes some major blue chip businesses as customers and are looking for a strong presence to sit on the Senior Management Team. Duties will include;

1.Preparation of monthly management accounts, with reconciliations and commentaries as appropriate, for discussion and review with senior management;
2.Gross profit analysis across product categories, customers, sales channels;
3.Reconciliation and maintenance of intercompany control accounts and ledgers for related entities; ensuring invoices are raised and recorded on a timely basis;
4.Preparation and maintenance of cash flows, budgets and annual accounts, to include detailed year end reconciliations for external accountants;
5.Regular reconciliations of key control accounts - bank, sales ledger, purchase ledger, VAT;
6.Helping management control the company's cashflow and identifying areas where efficiencies can be achieved, and ensuring management are aware when funding facilities limits are being approached/due to be breached;
7.Overseeing the raising of sales invoices and the credit control function that will be maintained by the accounts assistant;
8.Overseeing the purchase ledger & input of invoices and processing expenses that will be entered by the accounts assistant;
9.Maintenance of fixed asset register;
10.Liaising with appropriate staff/management to ensure that stock is properly monitored and valued, and that the accounts reflect the correct value at the year end, subject to provisions;
11.Preparation and submission of VAT returns on a regular basis;
12.Accurate and timely reporting of financial performance for the bank and other investors;
13.Comparison of financial performance with prior year and against budget;
14.Implementing and maintaining financial systems and ensuring issues are identified and dealt with on a timely basis;
15.Assisting management with projects to gain new funding;
16.Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required by the management and to be able to convey financial information to non-financial individuals.
