Qualified Accountant needed for a Finance Manager role in Central Oxford
Your new company
This organisation is a dynamic, not-for-profit charity with global presence that has established itself as a leader in the development and implementation of sustainable production and responsible sourcing. It has over fifteen years' experience working on sustainability in the forests, oil palm, soy, sugarcane, rubber and beef sectors at a range of scales that includes smallholders, communities and forest-dependent people through to multinational businesses. The Group is particularly interesting as it is made up of a UK commercial company, a UK-registered charity together with companies and associations across the Globe. As a result, the finance team work with both commercial company and charity accounting and support the offices in Africa, Asia and South America with their financial management.
Your new role
This position is an exciting opportunity to take on a management role within the organisation's finance team to support, maintain and improve the group's financial systems and controls. The role will specifically focus on the commercial arm and regional offices in Africa and the Far East. Based at the group's headquarters in Oxford, the post will involve interacting with all staff and working directly with finance team members to ensure a high level of operational delivery of financial activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Fully qualified with UK recognised accounting body (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
- A minimum of five years' relevant work experience
- Experience in all aspects of financial accounting including: Systems (SAGE Line 50) and advanced Excel
- Proven track record on expanding the use of accounting systems and improving and developing reporting within
- Strong sense of responsibility including high level of accuracy, attention to detail, excellent time-management, problem solving and organisational abilities
- Highly developed interpersonal and team working skills, as well as a proven ability to operate in a confidential environment
- Excellent communication skills in a variety of settings (formal/informal, financial and non-financial)
