Our client, based in Bradford is looking for an experienced and CCAB qualified accountant to work within their team.

The role is to be offered on a temporary basis on either an hourly or daily rate.

Details of the role:

* Lead officer for financial transaction processing: to manage the Finance Office Supervisor to ensure there is effective control over the client's assets and liabilities, which includes general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts and payments, bank accounts, debt recovery and credit control, fixed assets register, the payroll interface and the fees system interface.
* Lead officer for financial accounting and reporting: to co-ordinate the client’s statutory and regulatory financial reporting to ensure that accurate, timely and consistent information is provided to management and external funding bodies. 
* Lead officer for the preparation of the Annual Report and Financial Statements for the client and its trading companies in-line with SFA and statutory requirements along with associated documents.
* Lead officer for ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of all restricted and ring-fenced funding.
* Responsible for ensuring all cash transactions are correctly authorised and processed: receipts and payments.
* Responsible for preparing and reporting the daily, monthly, and annual cashflow forecasts.
* Responsible for ensuring all financial account reconciliations are conducted in timely and accurate manner, which are appropriately authorised.  This includes ensuring the data interfacing between sub-systems and the general ledger has taken place in a timely and accurate manner.
* Responsible for managing the bad debt provision and ensuring the write-off of bad debts is duly authorised.
* Responsible for managing all other provisions and ensuring the release and utilisation of such provisions is duly authorised.
* Responsible for all pension fund accounting and administrative arrangements.
* Responsible for all tax arrangements for the client, including the preparation of VAT and Corporation Tax returns on behalf of the client and its trading subsidiaries.
* To assist the Financial Controller in the production of an effective and efficient internal control framework, including financial regulations, policies and procedures for the client.
* To assist in the maintenance and development of the client's financial regulations, policies and procedures so that they fulfil statutory and regulatory obligations whilst being commensurate with the risk: overseeing compliance with the internal control framework:  to ensure that all income and expenditure – capital and revenue – is properly controlled.
* To undertake financial reviews and investigations of the client’s activities as required.
* Reporting and attending senior management committees and Corporation (Governing Body) committees, particularly Audit Committee, as required.
* Training of management and staff on financial control, accounting and risk management matters.
* To effectively and efficiently manage the Financial Control and Accounting department.
* Make a strategic and operational contribution to the re-engineering of business processes which result in a financial transaction
* Ensure the adoption of good practice and high-level benchmark performance for both the financial transaction processing service and the financial accounting and control service.
* Ensure a client responsive service is in operation.
* Continually develop the Financial Accounting & Control team’s capability.

The post holder will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check for this post.
