SOX Compliance Manager - Hungerford - £40,000 - 50,000


My client, a fast growing software business is recruiting for a Compliance Manager (SOX) for their Financial Reporting Team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities are;-
*Develop, execute and manage the annual International SOX compliance plan by working closely with all levels of management across both Financial Reporting and IT controls
*Effectively manage changes in the internal control environment resulting from the Company's move from certain financial accounting activities to a Business Service Centre in Europe, and concurrent upgrade to a new ERP system ("Finance Transformation Project")
*Oversee and perform walk-through's and testing of control design and operating effectiveness, managing the in-house compliance team, as well as external service providers
*Assist control owners in developing appropriate remediation plans to address any identified deficiencies, and monitor status of any such plans through to retesting remediated controls
*Provide written and verbal communications to Senior Executives on SOX compliance and regulatory reporting issues
*Evaluate and perform scoping of systems/infrastructure, including consideration of internal control implications of system and major process changes
*Initiate, monitor and maintain applicable compliance policies and procedures
*Monitor compliance across the International segment
*Review Anti-bribery forms and advise on anti-bribery policy requirements
*Deliver Compliance training to Business Partners, including training of new employees
*Participate in an advisory capacity on non-Sarbanes Oxley projects that may have internal control implications

Skills & Competencies Required;-
*Prior experience of managing SOX programmes in US Corporate environment
*Strong knowledge of: IT general controls / COSO 2013/COBIT Framework / Financial accounting
*Willingness to travel in Europe
*A good communicator, with the ability to influence both functional departments and people at all levels
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team (including with teams remotely located)
*Ability to work with initiative, managing workload effectively, meeting deadlines and effective decision making.
*Attention to detail and focus on quality.
*A resilient personality with the ability to deal with ambiguity and challenge whilst adaptable to change
