Group Financial Contoller

A large and complex business are seeking a Group Financial Controller to join the Finance function as the right hand individual to the Finance Director. Managing a team of four direct reports, you will take overall responsibility for the financial management and control of the regulatory departments.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the creation of financial plans for the group and its subsidiaries. You will be directly involved in the implementation and development of the Pillar 3 solvency II reporting requirements, across the business.

This role will also oversee the creation of financial reports on a monthly basis for presentation to the board. The financial reporting must be accurate; the right individual for this role will be extremely detail orientated in order to fully mitigate risk in this area.

Supporting the CFO you will have the chance to undertake projects on an ad hoc basis, and will, when required be able to step up to deputise for the Finance Director. This excellent exposure, will extend to the leadership and management of several teams within finance, including maintaining an excellent relationship with the external audit team.

You will truly partner the business by ensuring insightful information is developed and subsequently presented in order to inform pivotal business decisions. Naturally, you will need to be able to communicate complex technical finance matters in a clear and understandable format. There will also be numerous opportunities to make your mark on the business by creating and implementing improvements.

To be considered for this position you must have previous exposure to IFRS, partnered with a strong understanding of Solvency ii. The company also require a full accounting qualification (ACA, CA) and will favour candidates initially trained in practice.
