My client is recruiting for a key role in the global finance function acting as the business partner for the sales and marketing side of this instantly recognisable business. This pivotal role provides critical business partnering, commercial insight and strategic decision making to drive the delivery of sales and margin targets for the global business. You will be working closely with the sales and marketing teams to support the delivery of financial targets and responsible for reporting of actuals, budgets, forecasts and trends along with variances to enable a strong understanding of business performance. The role is commercially focused and would suit someone with an entrepreneurial attitude reminiscent of the wider company as well as somebody who has lofty career aspirations.

Key Responsbilities

  • Accountable for forecasting, reporting and delivery of Group sales and gross margin
  • Support the development and delivery of the Group planning process that will establish and approval on short and long term budgets and forecasts
  • Work effectively and pro-actively with the sales and marketing teams to provide, manage and forecast Group sales plan, including strategy
  • Support the business through the key GTM process and act as finance lead on the buying process
  • Effectively manage and support Sales & Margin analyst to provide key analysis of COGS (including Product cost (FOB), Agent fee, Inbound Logistics, Tariffs & duties) and Distribution & logistics costs
  • Develop with senior management appropriate strategies that support the delivery of the overall business strategy including long range plans, annual plans and reforecasts including weekly 1:1's to resolve financial issues
  • Act as finance contact for the main logistics partners and providers
  • Continually challenge current thinking / assumptions and use benchmarking to drive best practice as well as original solutions

Key Requirements

  • Ability to switch between strategic and operational thinking to help drive the business forward
  • Experience working with Tech/IT companies
  • Recently from a commercial background but with previous experience of management accounts
  • Strong data analysis skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Possess good oral communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • A desire to develop others and able to support and manage a team
