Our client is a growing £250m turnover listed organisation with a range of diverse operations. ,The Group has enjoyed a track record of profitable expansion reaching back more than 20 years through shrewd and conservative management.

A Financial Controller with a blend of technical and commercial skills is now required to provide outstanding financial management and robust input to decision making across this diverse Group. The role offers the potential to progress through to Finance Director in due course.

Reporting directly to the CFO key responsibilities include:-

Ensure that an environment of rigorous financial control is in place throughout the Group and that key risks are identified and mitigated;

Day-to-day financial management of both the holding company and all subsidiaries connected with the Group's related activities;
Ownership and management of the cash flow across the Group, including monitoring, projecting and presenting regular updates;
Co-ordination of the Group's Annual Budgeting process and on-going rolling forecasts;
Responsibility for the statutory compliance and governance across all areas of finance and tax for the Group;
Management of the year-end audit and production of statutory accounts together with quarterly preparation of full consolidation of the Group's various business activities;
Preparation and presentation of periodic financial reports to stakeholders in the Group including funders and investors;
Management of key external relationships including the Group's banking relationships, auditors and lawyers.

The Candidate

Qualified accountant with a blend of sound technical skills and insightful commercial acumen;
Comfortable in the detail but also able to take a strategic perspective;
Experience of successfully managing and motivating a team;
Experience of working with and partnering commercial / management teams outside of core finance;
A character with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the gravitas to influence at Board level.
