Client

Our client is a fast paced services provider to both the B2B and Consumer markets. They are currently experiencing strong growth and require an adaptable and ambitious Commercial Finance Director to partner with an extremely driven CEO.


Role Purpose

  • To develop and implement the organisations Commercial Finance strategies across both B2B and B2C channels.
  • Drive improved business performance and drive improved trading performance, enhancing strategic commercial decision making and executing ideas to drive improved overall business performance.
  • Deliver governance and review of Opex and Capex in Commercial trading areas - creating and reviewing business cases, supporting investment sign-off, monitoring and driving effective Opex and capex expenditure.
  • Drive best practices throughout the commercial finance function, ensuring standardized approaches to reporting and processes
  • Lead a senior commercially orientated finance team to deliver best in class commercial finance services
  • Drive a culture of continuous change and improvement
  • Recruit, engage, develop, performance manage through setting clear direction for the team and ensuring objectives are set and aligned to the business, CEO and partner area priorities.
  • Be the single point of contact for corporate wide commercial and financial reporting and understanding of key business issues across the business - communicate performance, key issues and recommendations to wider stakeholder group across the organisation.
  • To be the point of contact for commercial and financial review of the business. Represent these areas at Commercial Board and the Main Board when necessary
  • Lead ad hoc finance initiatives & project management


Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge and awareness of working in a regulated market and its challenges.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills will be pivotal for this role.
  • Proven strategic, commercial and accounting experience with significant understanding of the key drivers of business performance across a B2B/B2C organisation.
  • Large corporate experience (revenues > £2bn p.a)
  • Been involved in start-up BU within a large business - Entrepreneurial approach.
  • Requirement to be dynamic and collaborative, with an engaging communication style.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate and present information simply and in a compelling way to effectively influence strategic business decisions
  • Previous M&A experience - identification, due diligence and integration

The candidate needs to be able to build strong working relationships within the team and in the business, using their commercial knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to influence and drive business performance.

Location
The role will involve travel to London and across the UK.

Remuneration
A base salary range of circa £150,000 to £200,000 plus bonus and benefits.
