Interim Assistant Accountant

The SF Group is please to be recruiting on behalf of a household name based in Derbyshire who are looking to recruit a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant, initially on a 6 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of being made permanent at the end of the term. The role has come about to cover an internal secondment.

As the Assistant Accountant, you will report into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing financial information to key stakeholders in a timely manner and assist the business in delivering key objectives. Duties will include preparing monthly management accounts, assisting with journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliation's, financial forecasts and budgets. You will also review internal controls and compliance. In addition, you will be involved in capital projects, expenditure reviews and forecasting and completion of post investment project evaluations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a similar role who is looking to take a step into a commercially focused role.

Ideally you will be currently studying towards your CIMA (or equivalent) qualification with either retail or distribution experience and strong IT skills including solid Excel skills and ideally, experience using SAP. In return, you can expect an above market rate salary of £25-28k.
