A property start-up are looking for a committed Financial Controller to implement the business' exciting and ambitious scale-up plans, having raised a round of investment. The Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day management of the finance function which will involve setting up a best-in-class team and in the long term, influencing and driving the strategy of the business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to take on a variety of responsibilities and with a good performance, become the Finance Director within an 18 to 24 month period.
Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Full responsibility for preparing both statutory accounts and monthly management accounts.
- Budgeting processes and cashflow forecasting for pan-European rollout.
- Liaising with the board to develop financial and tax strategies for the business.
- Ensuring that the company meets with project rollout milestones as set out in the business plan.
- Understanding and overseeing all acquisitions and financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations.
- Managing and developing outsourced financial and operational third party relationships, or replace for in-house finance functions in line with operational scale-up.
- Reviewing transaction and operational processing systems to ensure they are in line with best practices, including benchmarking / performance measurement.
- Understanding all commercial events (lease events/ business rates revaluations) linked to portfolio of properties.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ideally ACA) with 3+ years post qualification experience in industry.
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting, FP&A and business partnering.
- Adaptability and flexibility to align with a changing and growing environment.
- Highly numerate and literate with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- A team-player who is proactive and able to perform under minimal supervision in an unstructured environment.
- Proven experience of driving and implement best in class finance practices
