Financial Controller

Our client are an AIM listed media events business with an aggressive growth agenda and following significant expansion, are seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead their finance function.

As they enter an extremely exciting phase in their growth, this newly created role will report to the COO and assume day to day responsibility for the finance function including transactional processing, management accounts, tax, treasury and company secretarial functions. In addition you will support strategic decision making through the provision of value add and insightful analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage transactional processes, including accounts payable, receivable and expenses
• Produce and control event costs
• Control overhead costs
• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Ensure compliance with all taxation requirements
• Produce required tables for half year and full year statutory accounts
• Ensure compliance with all required Company Secretarial functions (incl EIS and options scheme)
• Manage day to day banking and online payments
• Provide ad hoc analysis as required by COO

As part of the senior management team, you will have full accountability and autonomy for the finance function ensuring an appropriate control environment is prevalent and able to keep pace with the anticipated triple digit growth over 3 years.

As a qualified accountant (most likely ACA), you will have strong financial control and reporting skills with a flair for analysis and decision support. The successful candidate will also possess the confidence and gravitas to challenge extremely senior stakeholders, whilst deploying your diplomacy and influencing skills.
