The Disabilities Trust is a leading national charity providing innovative rehabilitation, care and support for people with profound physical impairments, acquired brain injury and learning disabilities as well as children and adults with autism.
Due to a restructure in the Finance Department, The Disabilities Trust is recruiting for an experienced Group Management Accountant or highly skilled Management Accountant who wishes to move into a diverse group role.
In this position, you will support the Finance Manager and be responsible for producing timely and consolidated management reports for both the Senior Management Team, internal Stakeholders across the Trust as well as the Board. 
This position is also a leadership role where you will provide support to the Finance Manager, potentially deputise for them when necessary, as well as managing our Management Accounts team. 


Key tasks and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
•    To deliver accurate, high quality monthly management accounts and reports to deadlines and to required standards (including Income & Expenditure A/c & Balance Sheet).
•    Strategic analysis and critical review of Management Reports and providing in depth commentary to senior management to explain variances
•    Provide variance analysis and commentary in support of the SMT Pack, incorporating notes and updates as directed
•    Continually adapt and improve management reports as agreed with Finance Manager
•    Production of reports for SMT monthly and Committee meetings when required.
•    To lead business partnership with Service Managers within the organisation and providing finance support to senior management as well as non-finance professionals in understanding and managing financial performance.

You must be proactive and a forward thinking planner with the ability to multi-task and prioritise as well as being an excellent communicator, who can break down complex financial information for both finance and non-finance professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a financial qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification practical experience, have excellent people and performance management skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ideally knowledge and experience of ‘SUN accounts and Q&A’.

An understanding of charity SORP and UK GAAP tax rules as they apply to Charitable organisation would be an advantage but not a pre-requirement of this role.
