We have a 12 month contract opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst in the FP&A team. This role will have accountability for multiple R&D departments across company affiliates in EMEA & Emerging Markets and will be supporting the FP&A Manager on other responsibilities under the remit including process improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Job Functions  

  • Provide business partnering support to internal customers, performing ad-hoc analysis and preparation of materials to support business needs.
  • Responsible for month-end close activities involving review of transaction details, understanding drivers behind variances versus forecast, preparation of journal entries and commentary for explaining variances to multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive involvement in the budgeting and planning process for headcount and operating expenses and preparation of presentation packages for budget owners.
  • Collaborate with other FP&A functions to ensure alignment of information and completeness and timeliness of submissions.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely management reporting including monthly financials (BVAs) and functional expense reporting.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses and use results to provide insights to management.
  • Consult and work closely with business partners to evaluate the costs and benefits associated with various financial decisions and provide essential trade-off options.
  • Provide financial analysis to support tactical and strategic decision making - e.g. input to business cases, cost analysis, what if scenarios, etc. as stipulated by the needs of the R&D business.
  • Accountable for meeting project deadlines and objectives.
  • Participate in the design, development and deployment of new technologies and processes.
  • Responsible for the support and maintenance of the company’s financial information.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • BA or BS degree in Business or Accounting, with a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or International equivalent
  • Relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis roles
  • Demonstrable Excel skills at an advanced level
  • Extensive hands-on working knowledge of Hyperion Applications (including Essbase & Smartview) and Oracle ERP or similar systems
  • Possess a great deal of flexibility and adaptability as the demands of the business grow and evolve
  • Proficient in multiple aspects of accounting and finance
  • Complete proficiency in the management and refinement of financial systems, business processes and data base structures
  • Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus
  • Experience in multi-national organizations a plus
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to meet deliverables, but not reluctant to seek clarifications when needed
