Financial Reporting Manager

Our client is a PE backed hotel business who have recently been through a period of transition and are now looking to improve internal structures and processes in order to future-proof the business. Having invested heavily in the management team over recent years they are now in a strong position to really grow the business and deliver on strategy

A recent move has led to the requirement of a new Financial Reporting Manager. With some further changes likely, there is certainly an opportunity for the successful candidate to put their ‘own stamp’ on the role. There will also be a number of interesting projects that lend themselves well to a technically skilled individual who can demonstrate commercial acumen. This role would therefore suit an ambitious, talented individual who trained within one of the Big 4 Accounting firms, before moving into a group role. You will now be looking to expand on that experience in a more senior position. 

Key responsibilities:

• Monthly preparation of consolidated Balance Sheet, P&L and cash flow statements for both Board and Bank;

• Preparation of year end statutory accounts under IFRS;

• Review and consolidate monthly results and management accounts, preparing written narrative to support;

• Partner with stakeholders across the business segments to ensure consistent levels of reporting across the group;

• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including, but not limited to Auditors, Tax Advisors and the bank;

• Support the business through a process of simplification;

• Lead finance work streams associated with acquisitions, including acquisition accounting;

• Support operating companies to ensure audit findings and recommendations are actioned.

The ideal candidate will be:

• ACA qualified with one of the Big 4 Accountancy Firms;

• Experienced in managing complex audits;

• A strong technical skill-set complimented by a commercial mindset;

• Experience reporting under IFRS;

• Able to demonstrate strong communication skills at all levels to ensure Group information is conveyed accurately.
