The UK arm of a rapidly-growing £multi-billion turn-over organisation, is seeking a qualified accountant to join their busy finance team in Central Birmingham, as Group Reporting & Planning Manager. The Group Reporting & Planning Manager will report in to the Finance Director, and will be paid a base salary in the range of £55,000 to £65,000 + car, pension and annual bonus.
Group Reporting & Planning Manager - Key responsibilities
- Be an integral part of establishing the new Group Reporting function, including involvement in the re-engineering of key process and the recruitment of a high performing team.
- Management of all on-going financial reporting ensuring compliance with accounting standards (Period end management reporting, statutory accounting and group submissions)
- Provision of periodic supporting commentary
- Assistance with production of board presentations
- Provision of internal professional accounting guidance and advice
- Management of impairment and onerous lease adjustments
- Leadership/management of financial planning & reporting team
- Constant review and implementation of improvements in the monthly reporting processes.
- Coordination of group planning processes including budget, forecast and long term plan.
- Finance Business Partner support for central cost budget-holders
- Audit management
- Management of external returns
- Chart of accounts management
- Market share & competitor analysis

Group Reporting & Planning Manager - Skills & Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards
- Willingness to adapt to constantly changing business requirements.
- Effective business partnering skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline intensive environment.
- Strong leadership and logical thinking (strategic, analytic, creative, practical) skills
- Ability to make decisions independently, identify issues and orchestrate to action and closure
- Strong IT capability.
