Accounts Assistant

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Macildowie are working exclusively with a client in North Derbyshire to recruit an AAT studying Accounts Assistant / Graduate / a CIMA early stages student into this fantastic business.

You will be a Management Accountant within 2-5 years depending on where you are with your current experience and completed exams.

Commutable from North Nottinghamshire/ North Derbyshire/ Mansfield/ Chesterfield/ Derby and Nuthall

The ideal candidate will be part-way through their AAT in the early stages of CIMA/ACCA or will have studied an Accounting and Finance degree.

THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

This permanent opportunity as an Accounts Assistant comes with a salary around £16,000 to £18,000 + study support.

You will start off with getting to grips with the business and how its banking/cash function works. Next, you will be learning the ledgers and learning about the transactional side of the accounts department (to give you a solid foundation for your future progression).

Other responsibilities will include:

Coordinating a weekly check on all cash (cash management)
Daily and weekly banking
Analysis of errors and problem solving of queries
Uploading statements onto the system
Check new accounts and query any unknown or new entries
Maintain the internet banking
Ensure any discrepancies are looked into and investigate any missing cash / cheques Filing and archive original bank statements

In the future:

Accruals, prepayments and journals
Budget monitoring
Liaise with non-finance personnel
Ledger maintenance
Cash flow forecasting

EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

- AAT student or a CIMA/ACCA student or a university graduate
- Strong Communicator
- Ambitious personality
- Strong data input skills
- Ability to problem solve and spot discrepancies
- Banking/Cash experience would be highly advantageous
