The Finance Manager will take ownership of the monthly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the management accounts and financial statements. As part of a small but growing team, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute across a range of activities with enthusiasm and flexibility, engaging proactively with the wider business and ultimately contributing towards the success of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day responsibility for the General Ledger and general accounting functions across both Green Network Energy and in due course Green Network UK
  • Maintain rigorous control over the balance sheet through timely and accurate reconciliations
  • Timely and accurately prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with UK statutory and IFRS (in particular FRS 102)
  • Support development of accounting policies and procedures including effective internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance with all designated laws and regulations for IFRS financial and tax reporting
  • Support development and ongoing management of the Business Plan forecast model, maintaining up to date assumptions and providing ongoing variance analysis
  • Develop and maintain appropriate performance MI framework and scorecards to track financial, commercial and operational performance
  • Provide ad-hoc support and analysis to drive insight into business performance, opportunities and risks
  • Support activities with external auditors and other advisors

Experience, Qualifications & Key Attributes

  • Professional Qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) required with ideally 2+ years PQE
  • Experience in the energy sector would be advantageous
  • Robust grasp on principles of financial control and able to apply in an operational environment
  • Solid knowledge in financial planning / budgeting and accounting
  • Solid knowledge of Accounting and ERP systems, specifically Netsuite       
  • A confident communicator and excellent verbal and analytical skills
  • Advanced modelling capabilities would be advantageous
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The ability to thrive in a “hands-on” environment
